Government Law College at Dholpur was established in the year 2005 which is well–known institution imparting legal education in the state of Rajasthan. Located near the Mahakali Temple on Sepau Road, the college provides a suitable atmosphere for legal education. The institution admits a total of 122 students and employs a faculty of only 5 therefore maintaining small class sizes and quality. The college currently offers two full-time degree programmes: A three-year integrated five years LL.B and two-year LL.M degree programme, for those aspiring to pursue a bachelor’s degree in law as well as those who want a master’s degree qualification in law.
The Government Law College has adopted various infrastructures aimed at facilitating the learning. An effective library is a source of legal literature, a student, and assists them in their scholarly work. Availability of a Moot Court facility enables students receive practical experience in relation to the working of a court of law and assist in enhancing the skills in advocacy. For those who like to indulge in sports activities, the college has sports amenities to undertake excises naturally to produce work-life balance. It also appreciates the role of technology in today’s practice of law and boasts of fabulous IT facilities. A canteen on the college provides food-services for the students and members of staff, a health centre with first aid facilities enhances the welfare of the college community.
As of now, the Government Law College, Dholpur has two major integrated law courses to offer. The LLB programme which is a 3-year undergraduate programme has an approved capacity of 60 students. In addition for those interested in more specialisation in law, the college offers a two-year full-time LLM programme with a capacity of forty students intake. Both programmes are intended to provide students with a broad and rich understanding of general and specific principles of law so that after graduation they will be able to become successful legal professionals. The total number of students that are taken through the two courses is one hundred showing that the college always aims to have a good number of those enrolled in class to enable teachers give them their best.
The admission policy of the Government Law College, Dholpur, is fair one and the main aim of the college is to enroll the best students of its law courses. Since the college falls under the government, it may use centralised admission criteria where the scores in certain law entrance exams maybe considered.
