Government Law College Ernakulam, founded in 1874, is one of the oldest government run law colleges in India situated at Ernakulam, Kochi, Kerala. This affiliated college which is recognised by the Bar Council of India has trained generations of legal brains for nearly 150 years. It has 16 dedicated professionals in the faculty and is currently providing a wide assortment of law programmes for those would-be legal personnel. The institution offers 5 courses in 4 degree levels with focus on commercial law, criminal law and integrated programmes. Currently, the college offers full time 5 courses, comprising undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral streams. There are three-year LLB programme with 120 intake capacity or else can go for 5 year integrated programmes like LLB Integrated with 80 intakes and B.Com LLB with 120 intakes. But those wishing to extend their specialization the college provides LLM Commercial Law and Criminal Law with each having 15 places. It’s possible to pursue a Ph.D. in Law, although the University doesn’t indicate how often it accepts students for this programme. The college does have a decent infrastructure but it can be improved on a lot of aspects. There is a beautiful library. There is Wi-Fi but the speed is not the best currently. The existing infrastructure is well - maintained.
See for the 5 years LLB Integrated the fee is the same for Government Law College Ernakulam. The fees is around Rs. 19,000 for the whole period. There are 80 seats for the curriculum.
