The Government Law College, Jhalawar was established in 2005. This institution is all permitted and recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI) and aims at delivering quality education in law. Under a small plot of an acre 5.27 acres the college provides a good infrastructure for the students. Currently the college has a student population of 71 with 5 faculty members implying a good student to teacher ratio hence adequate tutorial and counselling support. The college is currently offering just one full time programme which is the Bachelor of Laws (LLB) which under an extended plan of development in legal education.
The Government Law College to provide necessary amenities that will support the learning needs of the students. It plays a very important role of a library by providing texts and journals which contain legal literature as academic references. In addition, realising that skill is crucial in the college, known as a real place of legal education, then moot court has been established by the college. This enables students to practice actual court trials and gain confidence in presenting their cases in the courtroom. Further, these aims of the college’s education are also complemented with the effective sports facilities available for students, the reinforcement of the importance of exercise and team work among the students.
As for the foundational programmes, the Government Law College, Jhalawar has its three-year full-time LLB programme, which debuted in 2020. This programme is aimed at ensuring that the learners gain sufficient knowledge of a number of areas of law in order to succeed in the field of law. This college takes seventy-one students in total for this course to ensure close contact with an equally adequate number of students.
