Government Pharmacy College, Surat, was founded as an affiliated college and is the premier institution for pharmaceutical education in Gujarat. This institution is aided by the government, and is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The campus is compact, with an area of 2.75 acres, providing a close atmosphere for its students. The institution has an enrolment of 50 students with a faculty strength of 4, which assures a good student-to-teacher ratio in the interests of personal attention and quality education. 

At present, their commitment is to facilitate the students with the necessary amenities for completing their courses successfully. The library is a knowledge hub with a huge collection of 915 volumes, 252 titles, and subscriptions to 7 online national journals related only to subjects on pharmacy. In order to keep up with changing times in terms of technology, the institution has spent on good IT infrastructure so that students get to use contemporary computing resources. The Government Pharmacy College, Surat also has semester-wise, well-equipped, department-based laboratories so that students get an opportunity for practical exposure and perform experiments that form an essential part of their pharmaceutical course.
