Government Polytechnic, Chappar, Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, was established in the year 2017 as a technical institution. This is a co-educational institute, running under a 6-acre campus, that offers diploma programs in various engineering disciplines. The Polytechnic is approved by the All India Council of Technical Education, and at present, its total enrolment is 327 students and 15 faculty members. The affiliated college offers five diploma courses with emphasis on practical, industry-oriented education in streams such as Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Medical Laboratory Technology.

These are further enhanced by the various facilities provided in the institute for better learning experiences for its students. The library is well-stocked with syllabus books for all branches. It provides sitting to about 100 students at a time. It also provides access to magazines, newspapers, and previous year question papers. Internet connectivity is also provided within the campus of the institute. There exists a spacious, clean cafeteria that can accommodate 100 students, providing hot lunch, snacks, and refreshments at reasonable rates. Staff Colony has a well-equipped guest house meant for the comfortable accommodation of visitors. The college also maintains department-based laboratories to ensure that students get hands-on practical experience. There is a health center with first-aid facilities in the campus to serve the immediate medical requirements of students.

Government Polytechnic, Chappar offers five full-time diploma courses, each of three years duration. The total approved intake of the institute for all its programs is 300 students. The programs that are offered by this institution are Diploma in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, and Medical Laboratory Technology, each having an intake capacity of 60 students. This goes on to prove that the institute is very keen on maintaining proper student-to-faculty ratio so as to impart quality education to students in every branch.

Admission to Diploma courses in Government Polytechnic, Chappar is quite simple and purely based on merit. In every branch of Diploma Engineering, including Medical Laboratory Technology, admissions are made on the basis of inter-se merit in the qualifying examination that is, based on 10th class results. The inter-se merit in the 10th class examinations is prepared by the institute. This process ensures that meritorious students from all backgrounds get the opportunity to pursue technical education. The institute follows the academic calendar and admission dates prescribed by the state technical education board.
