Government Polytechnic College located at Larkipora, Dooru Road, Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir was established in 2012 is affiliated college. This is a technical institution which was accredited by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and majors in offering diploma courses in different engineering fields. Set up on 9.5 acres of land the college presently offers education to 298 students is faculty of 4 members. There are three full time diploma courses offered by the institute, accredited in Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering and Automobile Engineering domains to cater the students technological needs of the region.

The college has various facility which are aimed at providing an improved learning environment to the institution’s learners. The stocks up with books and other study materials make a library an important information centre for studies activities. The institution boasts of having one of the best IT facilities to make students armoured with modern technology. Facilities in each department include first-hand feeling of the environments, which are essential for enhancing on-the-job skills provided in engineering disciplines. The college currently offers three diploma courses all of which are on a full-time basis. These courses are offered for various branches of engineering ; the courses offer the students specialised technical education. The college offers only 150 admissions combined over all courses which shows that the college strives to deliver quality education to its students with small groups. This intake is distributed among the three primary programmes: It offers Diploma in Civil Engineering and Diploma in Computer Engineering of 60 intake capacity each; and Diploma in Automobile Engineering of 30 intake seat facility.
