Government Polytechnic College Barwani is one of the popular Technical College located in Barwani, Madhya Pradesh. It was started in the year 2003. This affiliated college, which is recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), undertakes Diploma courses in various engineering branches. The institute is spread over 0.19586 acres and has an intake capacity of 104 students at present It has the faculty of 1. The college offers five regular diploma courses in computer science, information technology, civil engineering, and other technical disciplines to fulfil the dreams of a number of learners demanding quality technical education in a given territory.

The institute comprises of extra facilities that aim at improving the learning atmosphere for the student. It comes equipped with an accommodation that is comfortable for the extra students, especially from out-town for the boys’ hostel. The library, equipped with 5,000 books, journals, magazines, and newspapers, provide the needed resource for college education. For extraordinarily talented students, the college offers sports halls where they can engage in sports whenever they are free with their academic work. All these developed communications portray the college’s IT environment that makes students acquainted with modern technology. Departmental laboratories provide practical facilities for certain course; the entire auditorium is used for different social functions and seminars. In Avila, first-aid-equipped health centre is also present within the compound and is booked mainly for students.

At present, there are five diploma courses available with us and all the programs offered by GPC Barwani are full-time in nature. The courses are computer science, information technology, civil engineering, computer hardware, refrigeration, and air conditioning. These courses cut across different fields of engineering, thus offering students a wide variety of specialities to develop their technical passions. The total intake of all these courses as approved collectively is 144, which is evidence of the fact that the institute has the ability to produce at least a large number of technology and engineering technicians every year.

The entrance test at Government Polytechnic College, Barwani, is basically the Madhya Pradesh Pre-Polytechnic Test (MP PPT). This common public exam is a stepping stone for the intending students to get placement in the college’s diploma courses. The MP PPT exam is a state-level entrance examination that tests the aptitude & knowledge of the candidates in relevant subjects so that deserving students get a chance to join their technical education in the institute.
