Government Polytechnic, Dahod was established in 1959 and is among the premier technical institutes in Dahod, Gujarat. This co-educational institute is affiliated with the State Technical Education Board and offers various diploma courses in different branches of engineering. The college at Dahod, approved by AICTE, New Delhi, has been catering to the requirements of the would-be engineers since more than the last six decades. The institute provides an ideal atmosphere for technical education with an enrolment of 936 students and a faculty strength of 59. The polytechnic offers 11 courses across different specialisations, catering to the diverse interests of students in the field of engineering.

Government Polytechnic, Dahod, has various full-time diploma courses. The institute offers 11 diploma courses in different branches of engineering: Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Computer Aided Costume Design and Dress Making. These three-year programs have been structured in a way to offer theoretical knowledge as well as practical skills in the respective disciplines, thus gearing the students for the industry.
