Government Polytechnic for Women, Hindupur, established in 1985 is among the leading technical institutions in the Anantapur District of Andhra Pradesh. It is a college providing technical education primarily to women in various fields of engineering. It spreads over 15.5 acres. The College has the approvals of both the All India Council for Technical Education and the Pharmacy Council of India. Currently, it has a total enrolment of 364 students with a faculty of 18, thus assuring a premium student-teacher ratio for individual attention. 

Government Polytechnic for Women possesses all the modern facilities to ensure that all the academic needs of the students are met. In total, three full-time diploma courses offered at Government Polytechnic for Women, Hindupur, are designed for current and emerging industry requirements. These courses include Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Diploma in Pharmacy, D.Pharma. All of these courses have been envisioned with appropriate provisions for adequate theory as well as practical learning to equip the graduates to handle a successful professional career.
