Government Polytechnic for Women Suryapet recognised in 1988 is an affiliated college situated in the state of Telangana India. Being a women’s college this technical institute has got recognition from All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to provide excellent technical education to the young females. Located in a ten acre piece of land, the polytechnic has an admission capacity of four hundred students and number of faculty members are twenty one. Currently the institute offers three diplomas each of which focuses on the certain branch of engineering to meet the demand of qualified technicians in the region.

The Government Polytechnic for Women  has the responsibility of creating an environment within which students of the institution can learn effectively. It provides some amenities which are compulsory to full fill their academics and other needs. The college has adequately endowed, departmentalised, and functional laboratories where learners can practice what they have been taught. For the exercise and recreation purpose speciality sport complex is provided for all students. It is well understood that students often require safe and comfortable accommodation and, to that end, the institute offers a girls’ hostel facility for out-station students to live securely and safely.

The Government Polytechnic for Women, Suryapet has three regular diploma programmes all of which are for a period of three years. They are Diploma in Computer Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering (Sandwitch), and Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Sandwitch). The total approved intake for all courses is 180 students with 60 students per programme. They aim at giving the students enough theoretical knowledge and skills in order for them to be productive when they join the work force in the field of their speciality.
