Government Polytechnic, Gairsain was established in the year 2013 and is an affiliated college situated in the district of Chamoli, Uttarakhand. This technical institute is duly approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. The institution ensures that quality education is imparted to students in the engineering field in this institution, which lies at an altitude of about 2,100 meters above mean sea level in the Himalayas. With a modest enrolment of 35 students and a faculty strength of 3, it is possible for individual attention to be given to students at the institute, and thus the close-knit academic community would be maintained.

Presently, the Government Polytechnic, Gairsain is offering one full-time course which is a three-year Diploma course in Electrical Engineering with an intake of 60 seats. This justifies the motive of the Institute for quality education in its particular field of technical study.
