Government Polytechnic, Hosadurga was started in the year 2009 and this college is an affiliated college situated in Chitradurga, Karnataka. This government operating institution is recognized by All India Council For Technical Education (AICTE), which provides quality technical inculcation. Located in a 5 acre land, the polytechnic provides four diploma programs in engineering fields. The student intake of the institute is 401 and the faculty of the institute is 27 which makes the student –to- teacher ration very good. Its conception is based on the idea of practical vocational training in accordance with demands of the modern economy to produce experts for multitude of fields of engineering.

It is equipped with a number of facilities avails to the institute to aid in the student’s academic achievement and emotional well-being. The Government Polytechnic, Hosadurga offers following full time diploma programs : Diploma in Computer Science and Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering and Diploma in Civil Engineering of duration of three years each. The total number of intake which has been approved for all these courses is 216 where each program takes 54 students.
