Government Polytechnic, Kotana, Baghpat is a tehermal institutions located at Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh was established in 2018. This affiliated college is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) to give its students quality education in the area of engineering. The institute has three diploma programmes with durations of three years for different engineering specialisations. The polytechnic with the strength of 3 members of the faculty offers practical education in technical training to budding engineers. This is evident in the choice and availability of courses together with other physical facilities that are expected to serve the institute in future. 

The polytechnic also has various facilities that would help student in their academic and individual needs. In aspects of printed materials, information, teaching aids and otherwise, the library proves to be the knowledge base. Government Polytechnic, Kotana, Baghpat provides a total of three full length programmes for diploma with an intake capacity of sixty students in each prescribed programme. The institute possesses certain characteristics in its curricula, Diploma in Civil Engineering, Diploma in Dairy Engineering, Diploma in Mechanical Automobile Engineering. These programs are planned for the delivery of fundamental knowledge and practical skills to the students for the purpose of setting a right base for their career in the engineering segment. This means the annual student enrollment in all courses totals to 180, showing how Institute can produce large numbers of young engineers every year. 

The procedure followed by Government Polytechnic, Kotana, Baghpat involve competition with regards to admissions. Candidates seeking admission to any of the diploma programmes offered at the institute have to pass Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination Commonly known as JEECUP. After the entrance examination is complete, students sit for another online counselling which is facilitated by the JEECUP. This extensive process of admission guarantees the selection of the most suitable candidates who meet their required performance in the test. 

Admission to all the diploma courses of the institute is based on JEECUP score, wherein two major disciplines, Civil Engineering and Dairy Engineering, Dairy Engineering and Mechanical Automobile Engineering are offered at the institute.
