Affiliated college named Government Polytechnic, Kotgir was founded in 2008, in Nizamabad, Telangana. Approved by AICTE for diploma programs in engineering disciplines, this institution is an AICTE approved institution. The polytechnic is located on a 10 acre land which for the moment accepts a total of 206 students and has 7 faculty members. Although specific ranking data is not given out as this writing, the institute aims at offering quality technical education to ‘’would be” Engineers in the region.

The polytechnic has several amenities that student’s require for academic needs and personal development. An adequately stocked library plays an important role as an information centre through which students get access to many educational materials. The college has also endowed itself to departmental laboratories, which are an important tool needed in college education particularly in technical institutions. To attend to the needs of students’ health, a health center is equipped with first aid services. Also, the institute is well aware that every person needs a healthy life style, that is why students here have an opportunity to use stadium and to develop team spirit.

As of now, Government Polytechnic, Kotgir has the following two full time diploma courses - 3 years. The overall capacity approved for these courses is 120 students. The institute offer Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with an intake of 60 students for each streams. These programs are best known for preparing students with tangible skills and good knowledge base to boost careers in diverse fields. The number of graduates is unknown, however efforts are in place to retain the institutes high standard to ensure the students success.

Government Polytechnic, Kotgir, admission procedure is TP POLYCET score and all the students get admitted through this entrance test only. This exam is conducted by State Board of Technical Education & Training (SBTET), Telangana Region. After the exam all admissions are centralized through counselling process rejected students again have to come from home for the same.
