About Government Polytechnic, Malkangiri
Government Polytechnic Malkangiri is a premier institute established in the year 2015. Government Polytechnic Malkangiri is an affiliated college of the Directorate of Technical Education and Training, Cuttack. All these courses are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Government Polytechnic Malkangiri offers a Diploma programme.
Government Polytechnic Malkangiri Diploma programme offers specialisation in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Students can choose their desired course and apply for the same provided they fulfil the basic eligibility criteria. The admission to the institute is done through selection based on marks secured in class 10th examination by central counselling conducted by DTET Odisha.
Government Polytechnic Malkangiri has its own placement cell to facilitate students in finding jobs after completion of the course. The 16-acre campus houses a lot of facilities for the students. Some of these are- separate boys and girls hostel accommodation with a mess facility, tutorial rooms, multiple laboratories, drawing halls, a computer lab, a library, games and sports facilities and soft skill development facilities.

- AICTE Pragati Scholarship for girl students (for Freshers) Rs.50,000/Annum for all category having parental income Rs.8 lakh or less, which will be renewed in the subsequent year.
- AICTE Saksham Scholarship for differently able students having disability 40% or more (for Fresher) Rs.50,000/Annum for all category having parental income as 8 lakh or less.
- Merit-cum-needs scholarships for 10% students in every discipline in every Govt. institute.
- Post-matric scholarship & other financial assistance sanctioned by Govt. from time to time for ST/SC/OBC/ SEBC/ Minority Community students in all institutions.
- One time scholarship of Rs.6000/- to eligible topper students in each semester examination.
- Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme for admission to 5% supernumerary seats in all institutes for the sons and daughters of parents whose annual income from all sources is less than Rs.8.00 Lakh or the amount fixed by Govt. from time to time.
