Located on the 7-acre campus, the polytechnic currently has three diploma programmes with specialisations in different engineering fields. Hence, like ITI, the major emphasis is kept on teaching trade for skill development of technicians to suit the industry needs. To support its student-centere approach, the polytechnic must have a minimum faculty strength of one to teach budding engineers.
It is equipped with several centres to improve the learning standards of students enrolled at the institute. The computer lab is comfortable and fully equipped with computer facilities; it has been designed with white and black boards, broadband Internet, video projection, and is fully air-conditioned to create a proper practical area for the students. For gross motor and leisure activities, the college encourages all-round student activities per taking part in outside and inside sporting activities because of the integrated approach to learning enacted by the college.
As mentioned above, Government Polytechnic Mohammadi Kheri provides a total of three diploma full-time engineering courses. Such programmes include a diploma in civil engineering, a diploma in computer science and engineering, and a diploma in electrical engineering. All courses last for three years and the purpose of the courses is to equip the students with both the theoretical knowledge as well as the skills in the specialised field. The institute has a quota of 60 for each of these courses, which now make up the following course offerings: 180 credit places for all faculties put together. In this way, this focused approach means that individuals can receive better quality education within important engineering fields.
Government Polytechnic, Mohammadi Kheri, follows a prescribed procedure to take admission and the admission process involves the student’s merit in the examination. Candidates willing to seek admission in the institutions affiliated with the university have to clear the Uttar Pradesh Joint Entrance Examination (Polytechnic), or JEECUP, organised by the Joint Entrance Examination Council, Lucknow. It acts as an entrance examination through which all polytechnic institutes in Uttar Pradesh admit their students. Having successfully sat through the JEECUP, candidates are admitted to a counselling process, through which they are placed in a particular university or polytechnic of their choice depending on their raw scores in the tests as well as their choices.
This systematic approach assures that all qualifying students with the dream of studying the various engineering courses offered at the institute are given the chances to do so. This polytechnic follows the admission calendar of the JEECUP and it has the usual admission cycle being once at the end of the year. It is recommended that aspiring students bookmark this official link of JEECUP to have exact dates of the entrance exam as well as counselling.
