Government polytechnic, Nirsa started its journey in the year 1958 is a technical college situated at Mauza- Gopalganj – Jharkhand. This affiliated college recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) closely provides quality education and training in engineering disciplines. Stretching over 8.3 acre, the institute has 594 students’ intake in total, and 5 professional faculty members. Currently, Government Polytechnic, Nirsa offers three directly affiliated diploma programs, each of three years’ duration, as under: Mining Engineering Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.

A number of facilities at the institute have been established with the intention of supporting resin learning environment and development of students. Part of the amenities available and accessible within the campus include books shops, bank, post office, hostels and other amenities the campus has different hostels for boys and girls. Equipment also does its part, for example, a library – is a knowledge base that offers the student a large number of reference materials. 

The college reflects the trends of the modern education through the noteworthy IT facilities to bring the students updated with technology advancements. Courses being offered in the institute include Diploma in Mining Engineering, Diploma in Civil Engineering, and Diploma in Mechanical Engineering. Each of these programs has an approved enrollment capacity of 60 students and cumulatively offers 180 seats across all courses.
