The Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC), Kadur, Karnataka, is a technical organisation with a specialisation in technical field which was started in the year 2007. Situated off B H Road opposite to Veda Pump House in Chikmagalur District, the stand along institute has been providing technical education with great strides for over a decade. Thus, GTTC Kadur runs under the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and continues the national standards of technical education.

Some of these facilities that are available at GTTC Kadur include; They include; The institute possesses well-equipped laboratories for practical training and educations so as to make the students get real experience in their field. Though the role of technology in the current society and especially in the universities has already being realised, GTTC has improved in having orderly IT facilities to enable the students get relevant IT Equipment's and software to enable that equip themselves with the modern day tools as they pursue their courses. The college owns a library which is a modern treasure trove of books, journals and academic research that supports students’ endeavors.

The core of GTTC Kadur’s academic programme is the four-year full time Diploma in Tool and Die Making programme. The objectives of this course are to assist students gain the specific competencies needed for the employment of precision engineering.
