Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Kanakapura: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC), Kanakapura was started in the year 2005 with technical degree and diploma courses. Situated in Ramanagara District, Karnataka, this institute is certified by All India Council for Technical Education, spread and advance in the field of tool and die making. GTTC Kanakapura teaches only one specific course, which proclaims a clear visionary direction of the institution in providing technical education. Boasting of a faculty of only 3 members, the institute plans to produce industry-oriented technicians and engineers.

Facilities in GTTC Kanakapura include among others facilities meant to improve students learning experiences. The college has state of the art laboratories to equip the students with experience on the working environments of most of the tools used in practice. A library forms a part of this learning resource center so as to provide for additional information in support of class work. The institute also has a very good Information Technology support department to allow students to keep up to date with the current technological developments within the profession.

The institute offers a single course, a Diploma in Tool and Die Making. This exercise is a full-time programme, which takes four years to complete to give the students adequate ground in this rather compartmentalised area. The course has an approved intake of 60 students which have been designed in such a way so as to hold a standard student faculty ratio and there by retaining the policy of the institute in providing personal attention to its students.
