Government Tool Room and Training Centre, Kolar: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

The Karnataka based specialised technical institution of Government Tool Room and Training Centre (GTTC) was set up in 2009 at Kolar. This institute is situated in the Kolar district and is an effort to bring effective education to this field in particular tool and die making. This affiliated college, GTTC Kolar is working under the approval of ‘All India Council for Technical Education’ to maintain the standard of Technical Education throughout the country. 

Having adequate and up-to-date teaching facilities has been credited as one of the strong points of GTTC Kolar. The necessary technical literature and other material required by students are adequately available at the institute which includes a modern and well stocked library. In addition to this the college has departmental laboratories that enhance the students’ practical application of the theories, learnt in class. Most of these labs are real life models of industries to enable learners get familiar with the equipment they are likely to use in their future places of work. Further, the college has provided great importance to the IT sector as well realising the fact that the impact, prominence and role digital competence is gaining in the modem manufacturing world is huge. Such strong technological support is guaranteed to make students conversant with the current software and other related technological devices used in tool and die making realm.

However, the Diploma in Tool and Die Making has stood out as the center of GTTC Kolar’s educational programme. This is a full course which takes students four years in order to enable them acquire skills on aspects of tool and die making. This will be after formal approval of the student-intake at sixty, to allow the education programme to be personalised to fit every student. 

The standard procedure of admission established in GTTC Kolar gives scholarship to candidates with better potential to study the field of tool and die making.
