Government Women’s college Kolar was started in the year 1984 is one of the most perceived women’s college situated in Kolar, Karnataka. This affiliated college located opposite to the Kolaramma Temple is established in three and half acres area. The college provides 16 diverse courses in 7 degree programs for female students only. Total enrolment average is at 3,382 while the faculty numbers about 36 ensuring a small student- teacher ratio. This college offers education in a wide specializations such as Arts, Commerce, Science, Computer Applications and contenders young women.

These facilities include among others, Computer laboratories, science laboratories, library, skills development centre, and supermarket. Though there is no provision about defining the number of specific seats separate to each course the total student intake is spread across every program is 3382 and it reflects that this institute is well versed with its educational potentialities.
