Govindrao Nikam College of Pharmacy, Sawarde, was established in the year 2005 and is one of the premier institutions in Pharmaceutical Education. The affiliated college is spread over 6.23 acres and is located in Ratnagiri, Maharashtra. The institute is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and approved by the Pharmacy Council of India and All India Council for Technical Education. The institution has a total enrollment of 373 students in the college. The strength of faculty members was 39, offering 3 degree programmes through various specialisations in the field of pharmacy. 

The college has various facilities to be used for bettering student learning and development. In the campus, there are different hostels for boys and girls; completely equipped with modern facilities like gymnasiums, hot water, power backup, and solar panels. While a huge mass of knowledge is found in the library with many reference books, textbooks, e-books, and e-journals, this is supplemented by a well-spaced reading room. The institution has a well-equipped gymnasium and provides facilities for both indoor and outdoor games for the sports and fitness inclined student. The IT infrastructure of the institution is very good. There is a well-equipped computer laboratory with twenty computers, provided with all the latest hardware and software arrangements to help students pace with the latest developments in technology.

Govindrao Nikam College of Pharmacy offers a wide variety of courses that cater to different levels involved with pharmaceutical education. The institute offers three full-time courses viz. B.Pharma, D.Pharma, and M.Pharma in Pharmaceutics. 

The admission process at Govindrao Nikam College of Pharmacy varies from one program to another. The B.Pharma course is based on the results of the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test, where candidates need to have non-zero marks in the test. M.Pharma course follows a Central Allotment Process and probably considers GPAT scores.
