GR Medical College and Research Centre is a newly set College in Mangaluru founded in the year 2021. Situated at the coastal city of Mangaluru, Karnataka this institution is associated with the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Science, Bangalore. The college is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC) which means it follows the necessities of the country of medical education. The faculty is comprised of 57 dedicated professionals of GRMC Mangaluru who are committed to impart value based medical education. The college currently only has one programme, the MBBS with an approved annual student enrolment of 150 students.

For the moment, GR Medical College and Research Centre provides only one course – the MBBS programme. This is a five and half year fixed full-time course preparing medical doctors to become great practitioners of their expertise. The academic model underwritten by the programme is to ensure that the student acquire pertinent knowledge, essential skills and ethical requisites that would enable the student to practice as a medical practitioner. In light of this, the intake has been approved for 150 and the college has the potential to make a positive contribution towards the production of the health facility workforce. The college is still young and the total number of graduates is yet to be compiled, but in the coming years the institution is likely to produce its first batch of medical graduates.

The policy for admission in GR Medical College and Research Centre is given by National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Under Graduates, commonly known as NEET UG. All the interested applicants should obtain genuine NEET UG examination ranking and must achieve the cutoff for the year 2024. The college is affiliated to the centralised counselling where the candidates choice the GRMC Mangaluru as their preferred college. Talking about the NEET UG result it is pertinent to mention here that the same for the applicants who appeared in 2024 was announced on 4 June 2024. Though, there is no specific information regarding to scholarship details it is mentioned by the college that there are possibilities to offer scholarships to many deserved candidates according to merit, scholastic achievement, and certain specified categories.
