The Green City College of Pharmacy is a college in Bangalore to offer education in the field of pharmaceuticals. Located at Kattigenahalli, the college is exclusively devoted to pharmacy courses. The precise year in which the college was established cannot be determined, but it is affiliated, recognised by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, and the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), New Delhi. The college currently has two flagship programmes in pharmacy to train students for the pharma sector and industry.
The Green City College of Pharmacy has a big role in delivering basic amenities that students need for the academic year. Of these, the institution has equipped efficient laboratories which are departmental, thus ensuring that students have practical experience in different parts of pharmaceutical sciences. These laboratories help to overcome the major deficiency in many courses – the inability to immediately apply the acquired knowledge in practice. Also, there is establishment of a library facility in Green City College of Pharmacy for every student. This present resource centre assists the academic aspect of the faculty and gives a wide range of relevant books, journals, and other resources pertaining to pharmacy and acts as a reference aid for students and researchers during their studies.
With regards to the programmes being offered, Green City College of Pharmacy only offers two major programmes for pharmacy. It is an affiliated college which provides four year’s B.Pharma and two years D.Pharma course in the field of pharmacy science. Both courses are full time programme and they are meant to produce graduates possessing complete knowledge of pharmaceutical sciences. Both of these courses have an approved intake capacity of 60 students thus meaning that the college has the capacity to teach 120 students. From this focused approach, the institution can minimize the ratio of students that each faculty has to handle which implies the faculty could spend more time with the students.
Admission policy to Green City College of Pharmacy is therefore written in such a way that any person who wishes to pursue pharmacy can easily gain admission into the college. Regarding B.Pharma selection criteria, the college participates in the Purvanchal University Common Admission Test (PUCAT), which shows the recognition of entrance tests. This approach put the college in accordance with other practices within admission into pharmaceutical education. As for the admission dates, they are not defined, but the applicants are welcome to visit the college’s website or phone the admission office for receiving most recent information on it.
