The computer programming course focuses on the following subjects: 

  • Basic conceptual knowledge associated with an introduction to the interface of Scratch and basic commands that help in moving blocks and script creation

  • Official Certification route: This is the option that culminates in an official certification from the partner institution, which is the Harvey Mudd College in this case. This route will add more value to your investment of time and effort as the qualification is duly recognized by many employers, thereby resulting in career growth
  • Audit pathway: The second option is to try this program for free. This is called the audit path, and it has timed access to the program content and your progress. Usually, this is kept for a few weeks. If you are on an exploratory path, this route might work for you better

3. Payment phase 

The third and final step involves making the payment for the program. This is applicable to those students who choose to undertake the official certification. Both options are covered briefly in the following section:

Evaluation process

The assignments are categorized into the following groups—homework, quizzes, and projects. They will be due and subsequently graded at the end of the program. The following is the breakdown of the grades across the three categories:

Homework  - 50%

Quizzes - 35% 

Projects - 15%

In order to be eligible to get a certificate, you need to secure a cumulative score of 60% or higher at the end.

This is an elementary course that introduces the incumbents to the interface of a program by the name of Scratch. Thus, it does not involve the Python programming language

This program does not have machine learning concepts built into it. There are others that can help you with that endeavor

3: Can I complete this course without a programming background?

Absolutely! That is the standout feature of this program. No previous programming language skills are necessary for making the most out of this program. It is a stepping stone to mainstream programming in the future
