Hasanamba College of Education is located in Hassan which was established in 1972 primarily aimed for teacher education. Yenepoya is a co-educational college situated in Vidyanagar, Hassan, Karnataka and is an affiliated college that fulfills the requirement of National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). The college has been accredited by the NAAC and therefore indicates the college is in support of quality education. Spread over just 3 acres of land, Hasanamba College of Education provides block of education geared towards the preparation of teachers.

In regards to the facilities available in a college, these include establishments which have aims of availing means to boost education for the college’s students. Furthermore, the library is an all-in-one research and reference center that provides student and faculty a wide variety of textual, multimedia, and electronic materials, and borrowing facilities. Two modern computer laboratories enable a student to use the Internet for the relevant course with free access. The college also has an auditorium used in conducting functions and seminars, sports grounds for phyiscal development, and a modern health facility with first aid facilities. A classroom layout is such that there is ample student-faculty contact; classrooms are equipped with projection facilities, smart boards and speakers etc.

Hasanamba College of Education currently offers one main course: the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This is a two years full time course that focuses on developing the students to fit teaching and education professions. The capacity for this program has been approved to be 50 students, which is inline with the colleges mantra of offering quality education to students while ensuring they receive adequate attention. As of now total students strength is 81 and total faculty members are 6 which is very good ratio for each student to get personal attention from faculty members.

Admission for Hasanamba College of Education is given strictly on merit following the policies of the state Government and the university to which the College is affiliated. The percentage of marks in the qualifying /entrance examination is the criterion followed for admission. The college has a well laid down admission polices so as to admit deserving and able students in its B.Ed program. Unfortunately, there is a lack of information on the scholarship that finances this college; however, the college is dedicated to helping students to continue their education.
