Hi-Tech Institute of Information and Technology (HIIT), the affiliated college was set up in the year 2001 in Jeypore, Koraput district of Odisha. Recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), this institute provides a number of diploma courses in engineering streams. HIIT is spread in a campus of 6.18 acres all together has a strength of 303 students in intake and has 47 faculty members. The institute offers 12 courses offered across the spectrum of specialisations all within one degree programme. HIIT is the institute of technical education for higher learning, which strives to produce the first-rate professional students who will have bright future in engineering careers.

Combined with professional facilities, Hi-Tech Institute of Information and Technology also has more than sufficient facilities to facilitate student learning and development. It holds 10, 000 volumes and a host of national and international technical journals and can host up to 200 patrons at a time. IT facilities comprising efficient computer labs with necessary software, and Pentium 4 systems also are a part of HIIT. There are different hostel facilities for the male and female students, the capacity of more than 200 and 150, respectively. For students’ exercise purposes, a multi-gym and sports facilities are provided. There is also an in-house canteen, an auditorium and air conditioned multimedia classroom with wireless LCD projector facility etc. Also, HIIT offers transport infrastructure that mixes the campus to the city and interconnects the campus to different services.

HIIT has 5 diploma courses all of which are full time programmes that takes one academic year to complete. They offer six normal diploma and six lateral entries in computer science engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, electronics and telecommunication engineering and applied electronics and instrumentation engineering. The totals approved intake for these courses are 615 students. Even though the graduation numbers pertaining to the latest year are missing, the enrolment figure of the institute is entirely in line with its intake capacity of 303 students. The current HIIT’s admission procedure takes into account an admission test, the scores in the qualification test as well as merit. This holistic admission process guarantee that only the deserving candidates are offered the various diploma programmes.
