Ideal College of Arts and Sciences, Kakinada was established in the year 1974. This is a college affiliated to the Andhra Pradesh Board of Intermediate Education. Occupying an area of 13 acres this institution delivers a variety of 19 courses in 7 degree programmes. This institution is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, or more popularly, NAAC, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, or AICTE. This college has hence created a special place in the realm of higher education. This institute has a faculty strength of 23 and an intake capacity of 1666, comprising 1292 males and 374 female students, reflecting a 4:1 male-to-female ratio. The programmes the college offers include undergraduate and postgraduate in arts, sciences, commerce, and vocational studies.

The college offers innovative B.Voc programmes in areas like Sustainable Agriculture, Software Development, Food Processing Quality Management, and several other relevant fields. At the postgraduate level, it offers courses in MBA, MCA, and various M.Sc programmes in Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Mathematics, etc. In short, the range of different courses the college offers at this level answers a whole spectrum of academic interests and career aspirations.
