Dear Ramakant,
If you are preparing for Gate as well as IES then Engineering Mathematics will Play important Role for your competitive aspects?
Here are some of the competitive and Reference books which will help you to prepare the math subject.
Hello aspirant,
Okay, highest package offered within college is 25 lpa. But college and students are not good enough to grab that chance.
For placed students, Hashgen provided 7 Lpa and that's highest recorded till date. Well few other students have got packages like 6–6.5 also. But that's a few.
The average package is 3 to 3.5 .
Well, trust me. Do yourself a favour, get some skills and apply outside campus. You'll get a lot better than what you expect in a college. However, if you are not so good, you'll still be placed.
Good luck with your future.
Dear Aspirant,
Definitely you can give IES(now ES) exam in your final year of electronics and communication engineering degree. The applying Candidate for IES must be in the final year of their engineering or a pass out. The limit is on the age though. The applicant must be atleast 21 and at max 30 years of age as on 1.1.20. There is a relaxation for those candidates who have served for government of 5 years.
You could read more about IES here:
UPSC IES (https://www.upsc.gov.in/)
Hope this helps. Thank you.
Hello,
Yes, final year engineering students too are eligible to apply for Indian Engineering Services, but they have to show the proof of passing the qualifying examination during the selection time as prescribed by UPSC. Only failure to do so will lead to rejection of selection.
Hello there!
Greetings!
IES exam is for graduates of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics & Telecommunications . And you are from ECE , so you are eligible for IES exam without any doubt . Also to be eligible candidates must be at least of 21 years while upper age limit is 30 years. Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification of Engineering Service Examination (ESE) on September 25, 2019. You can know about it in detail by going through the link below :- https://competition.careers360.com/articles/upsc-ese
Thankyou

Each of the GS papers have different subjects within them. Basically, these GS subjects are the papers of Economics, History, Geography, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Biodiversity, etc.

Hello student,
As you are now in first year of civil, you have enough time to prepare for IES as well as GATE.
I don't think there is any difficulty in preparing GATE and ESE simultaneously, as syllabus of both the subjects are almost same except some non-technical subjects and some small portion of technical part. I have seen many students who have done well in both the exams even secured rank 1 in both the exams.
Let me share some strategy for preparation of both the exams simultaneously. In technical part, questions asked in GATE is usually numeric based (though theoretical concepts are also being asked), whereas in ESE, you should have in-depth knowledge of subjects and numericals are easy to calculate (As calculator is not allowed) if you know the concept. Summarily, both exams need in-depth clarity of concepts and can be easily qualified if you prepare with the sincerity.
Now, coming to non-tech part. Engineering mathematics and Aptitude-reasoning are same for both the ESE and GATE, so you do not have to prepare for these subjects separately. Apart from this, you can cover english for GATE as it has less weightage. For ESE, you will have prepare some extra non-technical subjects like Current Affairs, Energy & Environment, Material Science (It is easier for Mechanical, EE & EC students, as they read it in technical part also with bit difference in syllabus), Design- Drawing- Safety, Standards- Quality, ICT, Project Management, and Ethics. You may think how can one prepare these subjects in less time, but let me tell you these subjects have less syllabus and number of questions asked in exam is less also (Questions from 10 subjects are there out of 100 questions). So, you can cover this part easily. If you are not able to prepare for exams by self-study, I would suggest you to join any coaching classes as wasting of time and taste the failure are not recommendable. Many of my juniors had issues with preparation & at last joined Made Easy to prepare for both the exams.
All the Best!!!
