The Indira Gandhi Government Dental College and hospital at Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir was established in the year 2004 DIGITAL LIBRARY DESTINY DSpace @ IGAP:igapadmin The IG Dental College and Hospital is well equipped with all the modern amenities and technologies. This is a Government run co-educational institution recognized under University of Jammu and accredited by the Dental Council of India (DCI). Located on a vast area of 10.75 acres, the college is currently providing different dental courses at the bachelor’s and master’s degree levels. The total admission capacity of the institute is 327 students out of which it has 60 faculty members and the ratio proves that the institute pays equal attention to every student in order to provide the best education possible.
A whole range of modern amenities is available to assist its academic and clinical courses in the college. Students have easy access to quality boys and girls hostels, which offer Además comforts to the students. The facility of the campus comprises health center, first-aid kit, library and other sports facilities. At post graduate level, the college offers nineteen specialized dental programs including 7 Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) programs for 2 admission intakes. These Master’s degree in Dental Surgery programs consist of important fields of dentistry including Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Periodontology, Oral and maxillofacial Surgery, Oral pathology and microbiology, Paediatric dentistry and preventive dentistry, Conservative dentistry and endodontics, and Orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics. All programs are day only so as to offer intensive, consecrated and highly specialized dental schooling. Indira Gandhi Government Dental College and Hospital has highly competitive admission procedure for students seeking admission to the college.
