Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic, Udupi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic was set up in 1997 to offer technical education to students in Udupi, in Karnataka state. Established by DAV College Trust & Management Society, Chartered by AICTE, this institute provides deploma courses in different specializations in engineering. Located in a 10.75 acre land, the institute has a total student capacity of intake 165 with total faculty of 16. Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic having its vision on quality education offers five full time diploma programmes along with complete practical knowledge and industrial exposure. The institute offers various programmes for students to pursue the various fields of engineering, making sure students get good jobs upon graduation.

To help the student to acquire full skills, Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic has adequate facilities to provide effective learning facilities. A well equipped library has more than seven thousand seven hundred and fifty one technical and non-technical books, various technical magazines and journals. Students also improve their understanding of multimedia through the use of digital library and multimedia computers in the use of the digital media and the internet. It has four computer laboratories each having the state of art computers and provides different computer for each individual. The above labs consist of specialisations such as Data Structures, Web designing, Linux, and Multimedia laboratories. Further, every department has its functional and well-facilitated laboratories where the students can learn practical knowledge other than theoretical experience. The campus also includes boys and girls hostels because this gives out-station students comfortable accommodation for their stay.

There are five diploma courses offered at Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic and all these are Day courses. These courses cut across all the engineering fields including  mechanical, electrical, electronics and communication, computer, chemical, industrial and manufacturing engineering specialties at different levels to address different people’s interests and career goals. The institute admits total students of 165 across all the programmes, while every course admits 27 students per the approval. This also helps in maintaining the standard student to faculty ration to help in administering quality attention and learning.

Admission procedure in Indira Shiva Rao Polytechnic is as conducted by the Government of Karnataka and the Fee structure is also approved by the Government of Karnataka. All provisional admissions are approved by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Bengaluru. The government has laid down some admission rules and regulation where prospective students are mandated to follow to reserve the requirements for different categories. Procedures are also spelt out together with the admission forms where necessary. It was not stated that MBA exams are conducted at particular dates, but the ideal action recommended for candidates who may be interested in joining the institute is to frequently visit the institutes website or visit the office in charge of admission to get the current information concerning availability and process of applying for MBA exams.
