Indrani Devi Institute of Education, Hooghly, was established in 2012. It is a private aided affiliated college at Durga Prasad, Bhandarhati, Dhaniakhali, West Bengal, recognized under the National Council for Teacher Education. The institute imparts teacher education courses exclusively. This institute sprawls over a compact 0.83 acres of land, housing a total student population of 281, along with 30 faculty members.

It has various academic facilities and resources to support students' development. The library acts as the central facility in terms of providing students with an adequate supply of educational materials and reference books. The institution has excellent infrastructure for information technology, which shall cope with the modern-day needs in education, thus providing the students with computer-aided learning packages. Sports facilities are available on campus to help students develop a healthy balance between academics and sports. It also has well-maintained and equipped laboratories that facilitate practical learning experiences.  Indrani Devi Institute of Education offers two major courses in the field of teacher education. Both the Bachelor of Education and the Diploma in Elementary Education are full-time courses with a duration of two years. In the B.Ed. course, there are 100 approved intake seats, and in the D.El.Ed. course, there are 50 seats available for admissions every year. Combining both courses, there will be a total student intake of 150.

Admission to the Indrani Devi Institute of Education shall be made on the basis of merit in accordance with the policies prescribed by the State Government and the affiliated University. Admissions to both the B.Ed and D.El.Ed courses shall be made in accordance with the marks obtained at the qualifying examination. The institute may also consider scores of entrance examinations or follow any other selection process prescribed by the West Bengal government and the affiliated university.
