Indraprastha College of Education and Technology, Baghpat: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Indraprastha College of Education and Technology at Singhawli Ahir, Baghpat, U.P. is an affiliated college started in 2001. This is a co-educative institution that has been recognised and accredited by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). Set out over an area of only 5.956 acres, the college presently boasts a total strength of 138 students and is staffed by 16 faculty members. IEN currently has only one degree programme with the main concentration in the preparation of skilled personnel, especially in the area of education. 

This is reflected by the variety of facilities available at the college; these are meant to supplement the learning process of the students. The elements of IT structure are a computer laboratory with the Pentium 4 (15 sets), connecting to high-speed Internet and a wireless connection. It is a promised playplace that contains more than 5000 books for academic purposes. In regard to bodily health and physical fitness, the college provides sports facilities and a gym. This facility includes an auditorium for seminars and other functions accompanied by ample laboratory and workshop facilities complying with the NCTE guidelines, a health complex equipped with first aid facilities, a canteen, and several guest rooms for other faculty and students’ families. 

Indraprastha College of Education and Technology currently offers one full-time course. The awards are named after the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme. This two-year programmes has an approved capacity of one hundred students and this is a clear sign of the institute’s’ desire to maintain an intake of only the best quality of students. The programme in B. Ed. is an educator training programme in the sense that the students who register for the programme are prepared to teach through the acquisition of teaching skills and knowledge. 

The BEd programme of Indraprastha College of Education and Technology conducts its admissions through the merit list. Selecting of candidates is done through qualifying examinations and/or entrance examinations in compliance with policies set by the state government, U.T. administration, and the affiliated university. That means only those candidates can be selected who really deserve as well as are capable enough to commence teaching education from the institute. Having a centralised core objective of training, preparing, and producing qualified professional teachers, the college has modern facilities and conducts its activities in conformity with the national standards in education.
