The Institute for Education, Seraikela started in 2014 under the coeducation private colleges affiliated university recognized in Seraikella-Kharswan district of Jharkhand. This programme is recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and is dedicated to providing teacher education programmes. The institute is located in a small plot of 1.5 acres; at present, it has 194 students and sixteen instructors. The Institute for Education provides two full-time degree programmes for individuals interested in teachers with an emphasis on elementary and post- compulsory education.

It has established various amenities that should improve student learning experiences in the institute. Every college needs a formidable library: stocked with all science books, social science books, humanities, national/international journ. Playgrounds are neat making the outside area of the campus safe and good looking, indoor games such as table tennis, and billiards also are available. The college Information Technology department boasts of well-equipped computer laboratories with 15 inches TFTs monitors, high-configuration PC’s, Internet with Wi-Fi facilities, and full connection round the clock. The college has a clean cafeteria, separate and well-equipped laboratories for practical’s in Physics, Chemistry and biology and medical facilities for any emergencies are also available in the campus. It has also arranged different hostels for boys and girls making it have a multi – diversity in the hostellers.

The Institute for Education, Seraikela, currently offers two full-time courses: B. Ed and D. El. Ed programs are recognized for certified Professionals of educating the students of elementary education. These two programs are of two years’n duration and have the main aim of producing graduates who will practice teaching. The total approved intake for these courses is 200 and there are 100 places for each one of them. It also helps the institute to preserve a specified curriculum offering that caters for the needs of students who will be trainers in the future.

The admission criteria in the Institute for Education, Seraikela are related to merit following the policies framed by the NCTE and State Government. For the B.Ed program, any entrance tests, score obtained in the previous qualifying examination are the criteria for admission. Likewise, admission to the D.El.Ed program is done on merit basis provided from marks obtained in the qualifying examination and/ or Entrance Test as per the norms of the State Government / UT Administration.
