Institute of Advanced Study in Education, Aizawl (IASE), is one of the premier institutions for education, which was established in 1975. Being an affiliated college in Aizawl, Mizoram, the college has been forming the future education for nearly 5 decades. Located in a small area of 1 acres, IASE has achieved NAAC accreditation to make sure that it offers the best education in its programmes. NCTE recognised institute with multiple programmes in education has 709 students enroled with 20 faculty members.

IASE offer an environment that is favourable for the learning process along with outstanding facilities in the student’s world. The institute has separate hostel facilities for boys and girls, the men’s hostel has 24 seats for the students and 40 seats for individual seats for women. IASE holds a rich academic resources & library that consists total 12440 books, general books, reference books, text books etc.. The library also has subscribed 16 journals and 18 magazines so that the students get all tastes of information within their grasp. In order to compete with the advancement in information technology, the library is computerised using INFLIBNET software known as SOUL-2.8 which includes book issue, purchase and stock checking.

The educational services provide by the institute are flexible and broad spectrum. It offers four full time courses that covers different levels of higher education. These include the Bachelors of Education also known as B.ED, Masters of Education also known as M.ED, Masters in Philosophy in Education also known as M.Phil and Doctor of Philosophy in Education also known as Ph.D. IASE’s flagship programme is the B.Ed programme which has an approved intake capacity of 150 students for the programme and the M.Ed programme which only takes 50 students for the programme. Both these programmes are intended to take two years of students’ time. For individuals aiming to further their pursuit in educational research, the institute offers M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes and the Ph.D. programmetakes six years to complete.

At IASE, the admission process is as fair and as exhaustive as possible to admit those deserving of a chance at this institution. In case of admissions in B.Ed programme, candidates are given admission based on merit, marks scored in the qualifying examination and/or an entrance test. It also, complies with any policies that may be in force from central government, the state government, or Mizoram University. The scheme of admission of the M.Ed programme also has marks in the qualifying examination, marks in the entrance test and may have interview. This approach gives IASE the opportunity to look at the candidates comprehensively.
