IHM Bhubaneswar, Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar is one of the reputed schools in the field of hospitality studies. This affiliated college was set up in 1973 and is located in the capital city of Odisha. Situated over a vast 7.323 acres of land, IHM Bhubaneswar has started its journey of creating competent leaders for the hospitality industry nearly five decades ago. The institute provides a wide spectrum of programmes: 5 courses in 4 degrees, developed in different areas of hotel management and catering industry. The institute has a total intake of 677 students and faculty of 15, which thus guarantees optimum attention and good education to the students interested to build a career in hospitality industry.

Due to hi-tech facilities, Institute of Hotel Management Bhubaneswar has been receiving all kinds of modern amenities for the improvement of the students’ learning atmosphere. It has opposed to to providing computer laboratories for the double number of students with office chairs containing connected tables and Wi-Fi span across the institute floor. In terms of a functional area laboratory, there is a state-of-the-art House keeping Lab with equipments of cleaning even star hotels as well as Fully operational laundry Lab. Accommodation related practicals are demonstrated in the institute by having two model hotel rooms for the students to have real feel. Institute of Hotel Management provides a complete set of courses for different segments of hospitality management. IHM Bhubaneswar Admission

The Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition, Bhubaneswar (IHM Bhubaneswar) is a premier institution known for a variety of hospitality and hotel management programs. For the past five decades, IHM Bhubaneswar has been the home of hospitality education. The institute confers a very tedious admission process to find the right candidates for various programs.

Most of the admissions to IHM Bhubaneswar are through the National Council for Hotel Management Joint Entrance Examination (NCHM JEE). This is a centralized entrance test that allows candidates to enter the B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration as well as the M.Sc in Hospitality Administration programs. The application process for the admission of the NCHM JEE is opened in mid-December until mid-February of the upcoming academic year.

In the B.Sc, students have another chance to acquire provisional admission by sitting for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) apart from the centralized admission process. This provision opens another opportunity for students wishing to study there.

Application Process

Degree-wise Admission Process

B.Sc Hospitality and Hotel Administration: The flagship program of IHM Bhubaneswar, with an approved intake of 288 seats. Admission in this program is mainly by NCHM JEE. However, JEE could also be given for consideration on a provisional basis. This tandem admission method ensured multiple opportunities for the deserving ones to try their chances at admissions.

M.Sc Hospitality Administration: Admission to the M.Sc program is also based on scores obtained by the candidate in the NCHM JEE. Candidates qualifying in this entrance examination are also considered for admission in this specialized master's program in managing the hospitality field.

PGD Accommodation Operation Management: This postgraduate diploma program has a sanctioned capacity of 47 students. While special admission details are not indicated, it is probable that the institute considers academic performance in the applicable bachelor's degree and may conduct its own selection process.

Diploma in Food Production: This specialized diploma program offers courses in culinary arts and food production. The admission may consider the combined score in 10+2 followed by possibly one institute-level selection procedure.
