Institute of Pharmacy, Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University, Kanpur, is a constituent college of the university evolved in the year 2004. Established in Kalyanpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, this institute has marked its position in the field of pharmaceutical education. The institute has a recognition from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India (PCI). It has employed a faculty of 9 dedicated professional whereby the institutes special concentration is within the field of pharmacy. The flagship course is the B.Pharma programme for which the college has a capacity of 60 students thus making sure a close student-faculty ratio for learners who wish to be pharmacists. 

Institute of Pharmacy today has many facilities to facilitate its academics at the institute. Thus, the library plays an important information role to provide students with diverse pharmaceutical literature and materials. The computer centre, up to dated systems and internet facilities help students with the latest technology. The specialised laboratories also similar to most laboratory courses in pharmacy are necessary for practical work. It also uses the facilities of the university where there exist a magnificent auditorium with a seating capacity of 1500 people which serves the institute for its all academic and cultural programmes. Medical facilities include the university health centre where student services are provided together with various medical and special doctors’ services. 

At present, the Institute of Pharmacy running only 2 full time courses of Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharma) and D.Pharma. B.Pharma is a four year undergraduate programme that is intended to equip the students with total knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical science. This is because it takes 60 students for a year intake and the school assures quality education and individual attention. The course for this degree course is developed in a way that will be able to capture the industry requirements for employment of human capital within the pharmaceutical sector. 

The admission system for the B.Pharma course in the Institute of Pharmacy, CSJM University with an intention of identifying deserving candidates interested in a professional career in the field of pharmacy. It common for the pharmacy institutes to take the national/state level entrance test, into consideration.
