Swami Vivekanand College of Education Pune established in year 2005 is a progressive teacher education institution of Institute of Science Poona. This affiliated college is situated at Wakad, exactly on Mumbai-Bangalore Highway at Bhumkar Chowk and the college spans over an area of 1.47 acres of land only. Recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education New Delhi the institute is co-educational for aspiring teachers. Currently the college boasts of having 97 students and 5 faculties and this makes the college to have small size classroom. The institute is mainly involved in the delivery of quality Bachelors of Education (B.Ed.) Program which is its flagship product.

Some of the facilities available in the college include that which helps in the improvement of academic and development faculty for students. The library is a lively centre for knowledge processing that contains textbooks, reference books, periodicals and educational magazines. To facilitate access to the e-journals, the college has E-Granthalaya Library and Information Management Software. The edifice of the institute has well provisioned laboratory for Sciences, Mathematics, English and Social Studies showing the institute’s focus on practical knowledge. Further, a modern computerized resource – a computer class with 125 stationality allows students to be familiar with the possibilities of computer technologies. For physical fitness, the college has provided a large hall and other facilities for games and sports – basketball, football, volleyball and cricket. Cultural activities can therefore be hosted in the 200 seater auditorium where learners develop skills and talents in performing arts.

They are especially proud of the Institute of Science Poona’s Swami Vivekanand College of Education that offers principally its Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) course. This is a two year full time course and having an intake capacity of one hundred students conform to the approved norms.
