Islampur College, established in 1973, is one of the major institutions of West Bengal, located in Islampur. This affiliated college has been meeting the scholastic needs of the vicinity spread over a sprawling 10-acre campus for almost five decades. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council has accredited Islampur College, which offers a wide array of undergraduate and postgraduate programs. With a total student enrolment of 12,508 and a faculty strength of 24, it is an institution to provide lively learning.

The college aims to impart all-round education; therefore, it has a whole range of facilities that would nurture a student's all-round growth and development. Boys' and girls' hostels are available on campus, with special emphasis on providing accommodation to SC/ST students. A well-stocked library acts as the knowledge center for students. It has indoor and outdoor sports facilities and physical fitness facilities for sports-loving students. The IT infrastructure will keep the students connected with modern technology, while the canteen serves as a refreshment and socialising space. Events and seminars will be held within an auditorium, adding to the liveliness of the campus culture. Islampur College offers a gamut of academic programs designed to suit different student interests. The number of courses it offers is 13, all being full-time programs. Some of the popular undergraduate courses include BA, B.Com, B.Sc, and various Honours courses in Bengali, English, Urdu, Political Science, History, Philosophy, Geography, Mathematics, and Accountancy. At the Post Graduate level, the MA in Urdu is available.
