Jagran Institute of Management and Mass Communication, Kanpur, was established in the year 2005 by the Jagran Education Foundation. It is one of the leading establishments in media, mass communication, and journalism education. JIMMC is located in the city of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and operates under the umbrella of IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar. A pool of diploma and postgraduate diploma programmes are available for all budding professionals who wish to study media. With a faculty strength of 3 focused educators, JIMMC assures a constant learning experience for students seeking action in the fast paced area of media and communication.

JIMMC Kanpur showcases an impressive range of facilities designed to provide students with hands-on experience and practical knowledge. It comes with a modern TV studio fully loaded with a multicamera set-up and all industry-standard software news channels use. The institute has a Media Lab with advanced facilities to provide practical learning experiences. The well stocked library is supplied with over 2,230 books, 20 newspapers, and 22 magazines. All the seminars, conferences, and the other cultural programmes are held in the Lakshmi Devi Auditorium. The lecture halls are also quite smart, where video conferencing helps to make the learning experience interactive. The Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus makes sure that students stay connected, having access to digital resources at all times.

The institute offers five courses of which one is a diploma and four postgraduate diploma courses, all being offered in full-time mode. It provides for a three year-long Diploma in Mass Communication, while the postgraduate diplomas in Print and Online Journalism, TV Journalism, Digital Media, and Advertising and Public Relations are of one-year duration. These courses are specifically designed to arm students with the right kind of skills and knowledge so that they can excel in various sectors of the media.
