Jamankira Degree College was proposed in 1992 and it is a recognised college situated in Jamankira, Sambalpur, Odisha. The institute is located over an area of 5.29 acre of land where the institute provides higher education to students of the area. The college has a total of 688 students and 11 faculties making it an Edwardian concentration where students get a one-on-one session with the faculty members. Jamankira Degree College currently has only two degree program that is offered to students; this is the Bachelor of Arts (BA) that shows that this college focuses on the Offering of humanities education.

The college has some instructional organization features which can aid student learning and development. This essential facility is utilized for carrying out academic activities as it provides diversity of study materials to the student. The college has placed emphasis in providing students with technological requirements for learning in their IT system. In as far as physical health and recreation is concerned, institutional amenities have been afforded in the form of sports facilities. An auditorium is facility for event and seminars thus making the academic environment more complete. The college also has concern for the welfare of the students which are availed accomodation through hostels for both males and females. Besides, there is a health center with the first aid facilities we can use in case of the main directions’Students’ immediate health emergencies.

From the academic perspectives of the college, Jamankira Degree College is dedicated to offer a quality education in Arts stream. This is the basic course of the college which is a full time degree course spread over three years the course offered is Bachelor of Arts and B.Sc. Which will accommodate a large number of reserve humanities inclined students. An advantage of the decision to focus on the delivery of the BA program is that college can create a more intensive program for arts studies than that of a large university.
