One of the best ROI colleges in the country

    Verified Review
    College Infrastructure

Though the college infrastructure on paper is not great but it has all the necessary study material required for any management student. The library has access of multiple databases which the students can easily leverage to excel in their professional careers.

    Academics

College is great in terms of academics. We have renowned names from the corporate world visiting our campus for conducting lectures. The faculty here is great and leaves no stone unturned to ingrain knowledge into their students.

    Placements

The college is known by the name "CEO Factory" which in itself tells us how the placements are at JBIMS, Mumbai. Being a premier B-School and also located at the heart of the financial capital of the country, there is almost every prominent financial services company visiting the campus.

    Value for Money

When we talk about Return on Investments(ROI) for any management institution in this country, two names always pop up: JBIMS and FMS, Delhi. Since the fees are on the lower side compared to other premier B-Schools like the IIMs, SP Jain, XLRI, etc., it is a no brainer to go for this college if you don't want to carry the burden of heavy student debt on your back.

    Campus Life

Campus life is good when it comes to academics. A lot of guest lectures are held in the college. One great thing about the college is its location Whenever you have some free time and want to chill with your buddies or you have had a tired day, you can always go the Marine Drive to chill and also release your stress of the day.

Have a question related to JBIMS Mumbai ?

    Hello,

Congratulations on scoring 99.98%! That's an exceptional result and shows a lot of potential. As for your question regarding joining JBIMS (Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies), your degree from the School of Open Learning (SOL) at Delhi University (DU) shouldn't be an issue in itself, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

    1. Eligibility Requirements : JBIMS typically accepts students who have completed a recognized undergraduate degree. SOL, being part of Delhi University, is generally recognized by most institutions in India, including JBIMS. However, you should check the specific eligibility criteria for JBIMS, especially whether they have any specific requirements regarding the mode of education (distance vs. regular). Some institutes prefer regular degrees for specific courses, though this is becoming less common.

    2. CAT Score & Selection Process : The CAT score you’ve achieved is highly competitive. JBIMS will focus heavily on your CAT score, along with other factors like your academic profile, work experience (if any), and personal interview performance. Distance learning degrees are not typically a disqualifier, but you may be asked about your academic background during the interview. If you can clearly articulate the value of your distance education, such as your self-discipline and ability to manage time, that can be a positive aspect.

    3. Accreditation : The SOL degrees are accredited by Delhi University, which is a well-established institution, so they are generally considered valid. However, in some cases, applicants from distance education programs might face additional scrutiny in terms of the quality of education and rigor, depending on the institution's policies.

    4. Past Precedents : Some individuals from SOL or other distance education backgrounds have successfully gotten into prestigious B-schools like JBIMS, so it's not an automatic roadblock. However, some applicants may have faced challenges or additional questions in interviews due to their non-traditional educational background.

    5. Interviews : During the interview process, the panel may ask questions about your background, including your decision to pursue distance education. If you're well-prepared to explain how your distance learning experience prepared you for the rigors of management education, you'll be able to address any concerns. Focus on the skills you developed, such as self-motivation, discipline, and adaptability, which are highly valued in management programs.

In summary, while your SOL degree won't disqualify you from applying to JBIMS, it’s always a good idea to check the specific eligibility and selection criteria for the batch you're applying to. If you're worried, you can reach out to JBIMS admissions or look for past experiences from other applicants who have been in a similar position.

Good luck with your application process! You’re in a great position with that CAT score.

how is the admission going to be for MSc finance in JBIMS

Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies offers a two-year, full-time MSc in Finance programme at the postgraduate level. Candidates seeking admission to the programme must have appeared for the MHCET or CAT followed by the Writing Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI). JBIMS then calculates the Application Rating based on the MHCET/ CAT scores, Class 10, Class 12, Bachelor's degree marks and extra-curricular activities or work experience and also gives weightage to the WATGDPI scores. The minimum total score required to be considered for admission to the MSc in Finance programme is 50 for General category candidates and 45 for reserved category candidates.

Candidates who have appeared for the UPSC Civil Services examination followed by the Interviews/ personality test (clearing Preliminary and Main examination and due for Interview) are also eligible for admission to the programme. Such candidates will be exempted from the MHCET/ CAT.

Can you provide the cat cutoff for S.P.JAIN, mumbai. & jbims

SP Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), and Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies (JBIMS) are two of the most renowned colleges in Mumbai offering the postgraduate management programmes. The Cutoffs for both the colleges vary as SPJIMR is considered to be a profile-based college while JBIMS is a merit-based college. To get admission to the PGDM or PGDM (BM) programmes at SPJIMR, candidates must obtain somewhere between 98 to 99 percentile, but if they have an extraordinary profile, then they may get admission even at a percentile ranging between 85 to 90 percentile. However, to get admission to the management programme offered at JBIMS, candidates must obtain a percentile of more than 99. The CAT cutoffs may be lower for candidates who belong to the reserved category.
