Janata Shikshan Sanstha's Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya, Wai was established in 1962. Janata Shikshan Sanstha was duly registered on 12th July 1967 with the Registrar of Societies under the Societies Act 1960. Although the college made a humble beginning with only undergraduate Arts and Commerce education, Dr.Appasaheb Pawar, the then Vice-Chancellor of Shivaji University, Kolhapur, gave permission and inaugurated the M. Com. Classes on 4 July 1969. 

Janata Shikshan Sanstha's Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya Courses are BA, BCom, BSc, BCA, MA, MCom and MSc. Admission into these programmes is given based on the merit of the last qualifying examination. Janata Shikshan Sanstha's Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya also awards scholarships to its students. The placement cell at Janata Shikshan Sanstha's Kisan Veer Mahavidyalaya offers various job opportunities to its students with competitive pay packages.
