Jawaharlal Nehru Government Polytechnic, Ramanthapur (JNGP) is a prominent technical college was started in the year of 1991 in Hyderabad, Telangana. It is a Government aided polytechnic recognised by the State Board of Technical Education & Training (SBTET) and accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). Located on a large area of 20 acres of land, JNGP is currently providing 7 diploma courses in a wide specialty of engineering. Currently enrols 1615 students and 58 faculty members, the institute aims to deliver technical education to young engineers. The need to deliver quality has been showcased by JNGP offering the following specializations; Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Packaging Technology.

There self-acclaimed modern facilities for learning enables the institute to enhance the academic and personal development. This modern library has a marvelous variety of standard books, journals and magazines for students as necessary to have resourceful accumulation for their studies. The learning facilities are well equipped with modern facilities and equipment’s to enable students acquire practical skills in their fields of specialty. JNGP also considers education information technology with excellent IT facilities so that the students cover all the offers of technology. 

The college offers opportunities for the physical health of students by putting up facilities for indoor and outdoor games for the students. Besides, the JNGP has the distinct hostels for boys and girls to provide suitable living standards among students travelling from different places. The campus has Wi-Fi facilities to enhance the connectivity in vein of academic and researching needs. A special room at the territory is an auditorium where different events, seminars and cultural events take place, thus helping to create a rich student life on the campus.

JNGP has presented the following diploma courses; all of these courses are full time. Currently, the institute has a monumental preparedness of learning that offers seven diploma courses in engineering discipline. These programs are development to equip the students with adequate knowledge to practice in their areas of specialty in the industry. As for the latest year, the total student intake capacity is 1,615, though the number of graduates cannot be determined It, but it sure play some role in contributing fresh technical workforce each year.

To join in Jawaharlal Nehru Government Polytechnic, Ramanthapur the candidates are supposed to clear the Telangana State Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (TS POLYCET) only. This entrance examination is taken by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Government of Telangana, India. Only students who have written the TS POLYCET and obtained good ranks qualify to be admitted to JNGP.
