JB Mahajan Degree College, Chauri Chaura, was established in 1972. The college is an affiliated college and located at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. A total of four programmes are offered for undergraduate studies. The enrolment for 544 students can be accommodated in the institution. The campus spreads over an area of 5 acres. The National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved this institution, and JB Mahajan Degree College teaches full-time courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Education. JB Mahajan Degree College offers four undergraduate programmes as full-time courses. The faculty holding the particular courses under its umbrella includes- B.A, B.Sc, B.Com, and D.El.Ed. The total approved intake in these courses is 1180 seats. Out of these, the maximum number of seats is for BA, which stands at 480, followed by B. Sc at 420 seats, B. Com at 180 seats, and D. El. Ed at 100 seats. These programmes cater to diverse academic interests and career aspirations of the students thereby providing a robust platform for their future activities.

Admission to the D.El.Ed programme is made on merit with consideration of marks secured in the qualifying examination and/or entrance examination. College follows any other selection process as per the policy of state government or UT administration. Merit-based entry to BA, B.Sc, and B.Com programmes has been introduced.
