JEI Mathaajee College of Engineering (JMCE), set up in the year 2008, is a self financing college affiliated to the University of Kancheepuram, Tamil Nadu. The institute is also recognized by the All India Council for Technical Education Level –(AICTE), and makes available number of engineering and management courses. In fact, JMCE has a total of 82 members of faculty,3 degree programmes and offer 10 courses with quality standards. The college offer requirements in computer science, electronics and telecommunication, mechanical, civil, and electrical, information technology, and automobile engineering. JMCE also provides postgraduate studies in Computer Science, Communication Systems and Business Administration.

JEI Mathaajee College of Engineering has established a complete range of amenities for the overall development of its students. Accommodations For out-of-town students there is a fully hosted campus for both male and female students to enable them to have their hostels separately. A professionally stocked library and information center acts as a knowledge resources center and enables the students to access a wide literature. As for those individuals interested in sports and physical activity, everyone can find the suitable fantastic sports facilities and even a modern gym in the college. It infrastructure is well established to support the various technological needs of different courses offered. Conferences and seminars can be held in an auditorium and serves as an active student life on the campus. In the same respect, the college offers a cafeteria, a heath center, and guests’ facilities in order to meet the students’ welfare needs. Sophisticated laboratories to meet the practical demonstration needs of various departments and enough space is also available for the car parking of faculty, staff and students.

In total, the institute is currently running 10 courses, that is, 5 of which are for undergraduates and the remaining 5 at post graduate level. These are basically, full time, on-campus programmes that offer the students depth and breadth of knowledge and hands on experience in engineering and management disciplines. The undergraduate programmes normally take four years while the postgraduate courses take two academic years. JMCE has huge student capacity intake as most of its BE programmes admit 60 students each. The IT Departments offers B.Tech in Information Technology having 30 seats, while B.E having Automobile Engineering having 30 seats, ME in computer Science& Engineering has 12 seats and ME in Communication Systems having 12 seats. The MBA is presented with an intake capacity of 60 seats that targets the students who want to be management professional.

The criteria for admission in JEI Mathaajee College of Engineering is a structured one and follows most standard techniques. For admission to undergraduate engineering programmes the college accepts the scores of Tamil Nadu Common Engineering Entrance Examination – TNEA organized by Anna University. ME programmes at postgraduate level accept scores form TANCET and CEETA-PG which stands for Common Engineering Entrance Test and Admission Cum Selection Test for Post graduate programmes in Engineering. The MBA programme also has the TANCET scores used in the admission processes as well. These exams play the vital role of ensuring that the college admit students who will have the right background knowledge to do well in their intended courses They also help the colleges to admit students with the desirable aptitude if offered to them in the intended area of study.
