Jhansi College of Education, Darsi: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

Jhansi College of Education was established in the year 2007 at Darsi. This affiliated college stands in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh. This is a co-educational institution approved by the National Council for Teacher Education, exclusively for teacher education. It occupies a small 1.2-acre site and currently has two full-time courses involving 201 students in total. Their focus is on teachers in the institution's course structure since it has courses targeting those who would like to become teachers at different levels. 

The infrastructure has various facilities that help in enriching the learning of its students. It is also supplemented by a well-equipped library and reading room with provision for a wide range of books, reference books, periodicals, journals, etc., helping in curricular and extra-curricular learning. The science labs and psychological labs are well provided with apparatus and equipment to gain practical experience. This IT infrastructure of the college has a computer lab with 15 latest computers, internet connectivity, and other necessary peripherals to make the students ready for modern and digital teaching learning process.

Two courses are primarily running under the Jhansi College of Education- Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed). Both are two-year, full-time programmes designed to prepare students for a career in teaching. B.Ed has an approved intake of 100 students; D.El.Ed can have a maximum of 50 only. This makes up the backbone of the academic curriculum with which the institute is coining and shaping qualified professionals for primary and secondary education sectors. 

The admission procedure to Jhansi College of Education is based on merit, which is determined by the marks secured at the qualifying examination and the entrance examination. The admission policy is based on guidelines framed by the state government/UT administration, and the affiliated university.
