JBAS College Chennai: Admission, Courses, Fees, Placements

JBAS College is an autonomous college for women situated in Sayeed College Campus, Karimabac meteor was situated in the year 1955 and affiliated to the University of Madras. This women’s college is situated in Chennai, Tamil Nadu and occupies as much as 13 acres of land, being accredited by NAAC. JBAS College has a cumulative enrollment of 7, 247 students and acquires 297 faculties, they offer 59 courses across 12 degrees. The institute offers a wide number of specialization in arts, science and commerce and is a women’s university with no male enrolment with 100% girl students.

JBAS College has numerous impressive amenities for the benefit of the academic setting as follows. The large and well-lit library started with up to date books, magazines, and journals is available with free internet connection and e-resources/INFLIBNET & NLIST. Students are also able to use EBSCO which is a database with over 2, 999 full text current journals and magazines. The campus also has a canteen facility and a clinics with two qualified doctors on hire.

The institute has an openness to a large variety of courses among which the following are important 41 undergraduate programs, 18 post graduate programs and many research degrees. Of the total enrollment of 7,021 students, 91% of students are in undergraduate programmes and the remaining 9% are post graduate students. The college has regular courses and offer full time as well as part time courses but stress on the regular courses. Sanctuary College continues to support education; in the academic year 2023 calendar, 4316 students benefitted from scholarships.

JBAS College for admission is also very clear and does not involve any bribe or favouritism if not merit based. Students complete application forms that are the entry processed by computerized software to produce merit list according to student’s eligibility. Department heads with the consent of the Principal develop lists of selections which are displayed at the college website and the notice board. Some of the entrance tests accepted by the college are not mentioned by name but it accepts a number of tests. The school offers scholarships to the deserving students including 4,161 undergraduate and 155 postgraduate students scholar funded in academic year 2023. There is no information on particular alumni, however college has active alumni association and its contribution to the further development is significant.
