Kakinada Institute of Engineering and Technology, established in 2001, is affiliated and located in Korangi, Andhra Pradesh. KIET has a campus of 10 acres and offers a wide variety of 15 courses across 6 degree programs for a total enrolment of 3,739 students. The institute is duly accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education. KIET has a faculty strength of 279 and the student-faculty ratio is quite decent. It offers specializations in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Cyber Security, making its students future-ready for the changing technology world.

The institute has all the facilities to enhance the learning experience for its students. It has separate hostels for boys and girls providing a home-away-from-home environment. The central library was started in the year 2001 with an area of more than 25,000 volumes and 160 journals of both national and international levels. They provide the facility of an automated system to gain access to online materials. Space for sports is available, having a sprawling playground with facilities to play all games like basketball, volleyball, and cricket. It has an institute with an IT infrastructure based on a fibre optic-based backbone campus network interconnecting more than 1,000 highly configured systems and servers. Other facilities include a canteen; transport facilities are also provided for different nearby areas; Wi-Fi-enabled campus; well-equipped laboratories; auditorium; health centre; gym.

The programs comprise 15 full-time programs in different levels, namely, B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, MCA, and Diploma. KIET offers courses not only in traditional engineering disciplines but also in emerging technologies, which would help the students face the challenges in the industry.

The admission process into KIET is majorly based on entrance examinations of different types. For the B.Tech programs at the institution, the admissions are made based on the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test. The Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test serves as a gateway to the MBA and MCA courses. For admission to M.Tech courses, the Institute uses either the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) or the Andhra Pradesh Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (AP PGECET). Diploma courses admit students based on the Andhra Pradesh Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (AP POLYCET). The institute adheres to the admission schedules and guidelines set by these respective examination authorities.
