Kamatchi Polytechnic College is an affiliated college at Pothavur, Trichy, Tamil Nadu which was started in 2010. This institution is a co-educational institution which is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), which admits students to diploma programmes specialising in numerous disciplines of engineering. Located on a confined area of 5.18 acres the college’s current strength is of 37 students and 27 faculties. Currently, Kamatchi Polytechnic College offers five diploma courses and all the course involve different branches of engineering to meet the needs of the qualifying technicians and engineers.

Kamatchi Polytechnic College, there is a variety of facilities that are both, meant to support the learning and development of its students. The college library which is adequately computerised to support study and reprographic facilities provides the students and members of the faculty with printed information. In an effort to facilitate skills colour in practical activities the institution has fully stocked laboratories and workshops.

Presently, the Kamatchi Polytechnic College has been providing Five Full time Diploma courses, each of three years duration. Successful completion in these courses entails a grasp in different areas of engineering, for instance mechanical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, electrical and electronics engineering; engineering computation; and civil engineering.
